About Nutrition

Nutrition is an important part of cancer treatment. Chemotherapy, radiation, and other cancer treatments can affect your eating habits, nutritional needs, and even how your body digests and absorbs food. Patients who are well nourished throughout treatment are shown to have a better prognosis and quality of life.

Oklahoma Cancer Specialists and Research Institute offers consultations with our in-house, registered dietitian to help cope with diet and appetite issues related to cancer and cancer treatment. Our dietitian evaluates each patient’s nutritional status and makes individualized recommendations to help patients stay strong and nourished throughout their cancer treatment.
